Manage Your DT Cloud Resources with Terraform

DT Cloud Terraform Provider is designed to manage core cloud infrastructure components through Terraform. With Terraform's workflow, you can preview infrastructure changes before applying them, track changes through code, and apply approved configurations to your DT Cloud environment. You do not need to recreate resources that were previously created manually. Existing DT Cloud resources can be brought under management using terraform import.

Define

Create the DT Cloud infrastructure you need as code.

Review

Preview planned changes before applying them.

Apply

Apply approved configurations to your DT Cloud environment.

Detect

See changes made to your infrastructure outside Terraform. When a resource is modified through the Console or another method, Terraform detects the difference during the next plan and shows you what has changed. When you apply the configuration, the resource is brought back to the state defined in your configuration.

Manage

Track your infrastructure lifecycle through a consistent configuration.

LOCAL INTEGRATION

Built for DT Cloud

DT Cloud Terraform Provider is built on DT Cloud's own service infrastructure and ecosystem. The provider's purpose is to make DT Cloud's core infrastructure services manageable through an Infrastructure as Code approach. Getting started is also simplified specifically for DT Cloud: the provider comes with its own setup command that prompts for your credentials, validates them against the API before saving, and writes the configuration file with the correct permissions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have any Questions?

DT Cloud Terraform Provider is an integration that allows you to manage DT Cloud resources using Terraform and the Infrastructure as Code approach.
Currently supported services include virtual machines (including disk and network interface attachments), networks and subnets, routers and static routes, security groups and rules, block storage and snapshots, images, SSH keys, Elastic IPs, and load balancers. On the roadmap: Kubernetes, VPN, and backup services.
No. Resources created manually or through the DT Cloud Console can be brought under management using terraform import. The resources are not recreated; they are managed in place.
Define your infrastructure as code, track changes, create consistent environments, and integrate cloud operations into your CI/CD workflows.
State management is handled by Terraform's own mechanisms; the provider does not impose any special requirements. By default, state is stored in a local file in your working directory. If you work as a team, it is recommended to use one of the remote backends supported by Terraform: state is stored in a shared location, and locking prevents two people from working on the same state at the same time.
Yes. Terraform Provider is not an alternative to the DT Cloud Console; it is a different management approach designed for Infrastructure as Code. Keep in mind that once you start managing a resource with Terraform, changes to that resource should be made through the configuration. A change made in the Console is detected during the next plan and, when applied, the resource is brought back to the state defined in the configuration. Resources that are not managed by Terraform are not affected.
